James Barnard

James is the Owner/Operator of Five O Driving School. James has worked as a law enforcement officer since 2010 and has worked for Fresno Police Department, Kern County Sheriff’s Office, and Stallion Springs Police Department. He has held the following positions during his law enforcement career: Training Officer, Terrorist Liaison Officer, Narcotics Expert, and Off Highway Vehicle Unit. James enjoys teaching safe driving practices as well as bass fishing, riding ATV’s, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.

John Rhoades

John is the creator of Five O Driving School. John came up with the name and the concept of having first responders teach behind the wheel training. John has over 14 years teaching experience in behind the wheel training. Prior to becoming an instructor, John worked for California Highway Patrol for 32 years. John was a Sergeant with the California Highway Patrol. John worked the following areas: Bakersfield, Glendale, Newhall, Tejon, Santa Ana, Santa Maria. He was a shooting team investigator and MAIT accident investigator. John was the tire forensic investigator for the CHP. John was a Field Training Officer and a certified EMT. He enjoys working on old collector and muscle cars.

Laurie Hamilton

Laurie has been teaching at Five O Driving School since 2018. Laurie was an Officer with the California Highway Patrol for 8 and a half years. Laurie worked in the following areas at the California Highway Patrol: Bakersfield, Tejon, and Mojave Office. Laurie was a Field Training Officer, Weapons Training Officer, Safety Training Officer, and was a drug recognition expert. Laurie enjoys teaching and helps with youth bible study at her church. 

Sean McEnulty

Sean has been teaching at Five O Driving School for approximately 1 year.  Sean was an Officer with the California Highway Patrol over 13 years. Sean worked in the following areas for the Highway Patrol: Bakersfield, Tejon, and Central Division. He taught traffic school and the vehicle code to other allied agencies. Sean was a K-9 Officer with CHP and worked narcotics enforcement. He was also in the United States Marine Corp. Sean enjoys riding motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren.

Frank Lewis 

Frank has been teaching at Five O Driving School since 2019. Frank was an Officer with the California Highway Patrol for approximately 30 years. Frank worked the following areas for the California Highway Patrol: Santa Maria, Verdugo Hills, TOC watch office for Southern Division. Frank held the following assignments at the Highway Patrol including Weapons Officer, VIN verification Officer, and School Bus Officer. Frank enjoys teaching and traveling.

John Jamison

John Jamison has been teaching at Five O Driving School since 2019. John was a Police Officer with the Bakersfield Police Department for over 25 years. He was a Field Training Officer for 10 years and was a report writing instructor and taught at the Police Academy. John was promoted to the rank of Detective where he had the following assignments: Burglary, Financial Crimes, Auto Theft, and Sex Crimes. He was also a Deputy with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office for five years. John enjoys teaching, camping, and woodworking. 

Scott Faulkenberry

Scott has been teaching at Five O Driving School since 2018. Scott was a Police Officer with the Bakersfield Police Department for over 29 years. Scott held the positions: Senior Police Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective, and Motorcycle Officer. Scott was also an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Center) Instructor. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the Bakersfield Police Department. Scott enjoys teaching, riding his Victory Motorcycle, enjoys camping, bicycling, and playing golf.

Michael Freeman

Michael Freeman has been teaching at Five O Driving School since 2018. Michael was in the United States Navy for over 6 years. Michael specialized as a Torpedo Man and worked in Aviation Ordinance. He was stationed on the USS America CVA66. Michael has been teaching American Kenpo for 40 years and is a black belt who is also involved in teaching/training in the martial arts sector.
